The estate has vineyards and a new cellar near Montenero ( Grosseto province), in the designated area for the production of Montecucco DOC. Vineyards : 11,38 hectares ( 28,12 acres ) planted on land that dates from Pliocene Cretaceous period. Medium grain soil with good drainage alternated with layers of chalky clay at an altitude that ranges from160 to 250 metres above sea level. Grape varietal: Minimum 85% Sangiovese. Fermentation and refinement: in steinless steel vats with temperature controlled trough cooling plates. Ageing:: The Sangiovese is aged in 60 hl Slavonian oak barrels and in new French oak barriques. Bottles produced: approximately 12.800, with an anti-counterfeiting hologram on the capsule. Colour: intense ruby red. Organoleptic characteristics: (14% vol.) intense bouquet with hints of mature cherry, blueberry, leather, tobacco and vanilla. In mouth is quite soft, warm and well balanced. Very long persistence with an aftertaste of plum jam and black chocolate.. Service: open an hour before pouring and serve at 18°C (64,4° F) in crystal wine glasses. Bottles should be kept in a horizontal position, far from light sources and protected from both extremes and changes in temperature. Food pairings: this is a wine that is suited to all courses, roasted red meats, salamis and cheese.
